TIn the city I become a creature of cement and electricity. I live off soup in styrofoam cups and think nothing of taking two subways and a 45 minute bus ride for a cup of coffee and a half hour chat. I scrounge newspapers in cafe's and internet in libraries, swallowing news like construction eating roads, like the alligators in the sewers. I like to be fumbling at my front door already half alseep and pass out before I have time to fluff my pillows. Like is the wrong word, I need this. I need it like a prositute needs condoms, like a 36 year old pizza delivery boy needs a new life plan. If I lDo Not Operate Heavy Machinery
